Nose Tonal Drawing

Image
Tuesday 18th February 2020 What did you need to consider? When drawing the nose, you had to consider the size of the nose, how much pressure you are applying with your pencil, and the shape of the nose. (Nose drawn by following a video) (Nose drawn by following a step by step guide on paper ) Reflection: In these two lessons, we used two different methods to draw noses. One being a video, and the other being a paper guide also being used by our teacher who was doing it with us. I learnt how to draw a nose and how difficult it actually is. I also learnt how important it is to not put too much pressure on your pencil when sketching.  WWW: I learnt how to draw a nose  I was able to draw a nose  EBI: If I finished the drawings

Observational Drawing - My Objects

Image
Tuesday 4th January 2020 What is observational drawing? Observational drawing is when an artist observes something and responds to it with a visual representation. In our case, we took three objects which were important to us and drew them by observing the objects, value, shape, proportion, etc. What do you need to consider when creating an observational drawing? When creating an observational drawing, you need to take into consideration the angle from which you are drawing, the proportion, the shape, where the light hits, and the shading. These factors are what help you to create an accurate observational drawing. What are the keywords? proportion scale value shape line (What I am trying to draw) (Observational drawing after first lesson) (Finished Observational drawing) Reflection: In these lessons, I learnt what observational drawing is and how to draw something you see on paper. I also learnt how to make sure your drawing is in proport...

Observational drawing - Eye

Image
Tuesday 11th February 2020 What is grid observational drawing? Grid observational drawing is the method of using a grid to accurately draw something. If something, an eye in this example, is drawn on a grid, you can take that same grid but have it be blank and focus on each square one by one and what you see in each square on the drawing and draw it accurately. How did the grid method help you? The grid method allowed me to focus on one part of the eye at a time and not as a whole. At the start, I did not know where to start with the eye, but when understanding the purpose of the grid, had an idea of what direction I should be going in and what I should do first. I focused on one square at a time and trying to copy what I saw as closely to the original as possible.  What did you need to consider? When drawing the eye, I had to consider the scale and proportion of the drawing on each square. I had to keep checking and make sure each square was correct an...
